Bessie Starr, 83, went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2007.
She was born in Wardell, MS to the late George and Blanche VanDriest. She attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Assembly and retired from Abbott Laboratories.
Preceded in death by her husband, Norman Starr; and brother, William VanDriest.
Survived by children, Ruth Null, Daniel Stowe, Cathy Riley and Tim Schinsky; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry and Eddie VanDriest; and sister Bonnie Hill.
Bessie's faith in God and desire to see all of her family serving God gave her the strength to fight a long hard battle with cancer.
